Top Supplements for Endometriosis (Backed by Research + Real-Life Results)
Endometriosis is more than just painful periods. It’s an inflammatory, estrogen-driven condition that impacts the whole body, from digestion to mental health.
While there’s no “cure” (even if you have had surgery, I still consider your endometriosis predisposition), the right supplements can make a huge difference in reducing pain, calming inflammation, and supporting your hormones naturally.
1. Omega-3 Fatty Acids (Fish Oil or Algal Oil)
Reduces inflammation
May help lessen period pain
2. Curcumin (from Turmeric)
Natural anti-inflammatory
Can reduce pain when taken consistently
3. N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)
Antioxidant support
Aids liver health and therefore, healthy hormone metabolism
4. Magnesium (Glycinate)
Relieves cramps, supports sleep, reduces stress
Improve insulin sensitvity
5. Sulforaphane or DIM (Diindolylmethane)
Both support healthy oestrogen metabolism
I always run a DUTCH test before recommending DIM as it isn’t right for everyone, whereas sulforaphane is much more gentle
6. Probiotics + Gut Support
Endo is linked to gut health and immune dysregulation
A quality multi-strain probiotic plus fibre can help balance inflammation
Running a GI Map / gut microbiome test first with my endo clients is my preference when it comes to creating a supplement plan, as our guts are so unique and testing can determine the right strain and additional gut support for the individual
Supplements are most effective when paired with a hormone-supportive lifestyle: think whole foods, stress reduction, sleep, and blood sugar balance. You don’t need a cabinet full of pills, just the right ones for your body. Start slow, track your symptoms, and if you’re unsure where to begin, that’s where I come in!
As a women’s health nutritionist, I work with you to create a personalised plan that supports your unique needs, without restriction, confusion, or overwhelm. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with endo for years, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
