Dark Chocolate Hazelnut and Coconut Butter

April 4, 2018

I honestly don’t think a single day goes past that doesn’t include consuming copious amounts of nut butter. In my smoothie, stirred into coconut yogurt, spread on toast – you name it, it’s without a doubt smothered in nut butter. Another foodie love of mine is roasted hazelnuts and I frequently roast a large batch, ready to crush up over salads and nourishing bowls.

Enter dark chocolate hazelnut and coconut butter; the rich and ever so moreish combination of my two loves. It’s high fat, a key component in healthy happy hormones, and contains no sugar, refined or unrefined. It’s blood sugar stabilising and packed full of those lovely antioxidants that ensure to make your skin glow all day long. Better yet, it tastes absolutely heavenly, so much so that you’ll have a hard time resisting eating the whole jar.

Ingredients: one small jar

2 tbsp of cacao powder

1 cup of roasted hazelnuts, skins off

4 tbsp of coconut butter

1 Blend all ingredients together in a food processor for good few minutes until completely smooth and runny. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, feel free to add in a medjool date.

2 Spread generously on toast, top coconut yogurt or even dollop on top of raw brownies for added yumminess. Store in the fridge until ready to eat.
